STRUTTING THEIR STUFF FOR CHARITY
STUDENTS will strut their stuff on the catwalk to raise cash for a sick youngster.
The teenagers at Hartlepool College of Further Education have managed to combine their studies with boosting funds for the Samuel Robson Appeal.
The three-year-old Hartlepool youngster (pictured) has recently undergone a five-hour brain operation at London's Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
Samuel, who is recovering well from the surgery, suffers from a rare condition called Hemimegalencephaly, which effects his physical and learning development and endures constant bouts of seizures.
Now, students on the college's Level 3 Administration course, have organised a fashion show and the money raised will go to Samuel's appeal.
The clothes have been loaned by Hartlepool's Asda and will be modelled by a mixture of staff and students.
Erica Webber, senior lecturer for the college's department of business and management, said: "The students have undertaken this project as part of their studies and I'm extremely pleased with what they have achieved.
"They have put a lot of effort into making the event a success.
"The project has given them the necessary skills to complete their studies and raise money for a worthwhile cause. It promises to be an enjoyable evening."
The fashion show will be held in the main hall of the college on Wednesday, April 2, at 7pm and there will also be entertainment from the Karen Liddle School of Dance.
Tickets for the event cost £2.50 each and are available by telephoning the college's marketing and media services on (01429) 283815.
